Organic Watercress is not only a tasty green leafy vegetable, it is also a very healthy beneficial food that is a strong preventive medicine when eaten daily. Oh, and it's a great 'bang for the buck' at your local grocers and farmer's markets.

Considered one of the oldest leaf vegetables consumed by humans, watercress is a close cousin of mustard greens, cabbage and arugula. Watercress offers lots of nutrients and health benefits, and can be used in salads, soups, sandwiches and more to add a refreshing, peppery flavor. While considered an aquatic or semi-aquatic perennial plant that is often found near slow-moving water, you can also grow watercress in containers indoors or anywhere outdoors as long as they are shaded and have plenty of water.

Watercress is packed with vital vitamins and minerals, and positively effects many body systems, repairs cellular damage, and prevents cardiovascular, cancer and thyroid imbalance with the nutritional value it imparts.

The nutrients in watercress are also beneficial to women in the post-menopausal years to improve cognition and reduce risk of osteoporosis. Water cress could be consumed by those wanting to prevent as well as treat these types of conditions and is recommended as a powerful “super food
